What if you had only 12 weeks in the year? Would you get more done? Would you be more focused? That’s the pretense of Brian P. Moran’s book by the same name.
The concept is simple: Instead of focusing your efforts on what you can get done over the span of 12 months, get laser focused on what you can accomplish in 12 weeks and look at that as your calendar year.
There are 5 basic principles in which the 12 week year focuses:
- Vision – Creates a substantial commitment and action
- Planning
- Process Control – A set of tools or events that align daily actions with the plan
- Measurement – allows for informed decision making
- Time Use
So what do you think? What would happen if you used the 5 principles above and outlined your 12-week plan? How much do you think you could get done between now and then?
I challenge you to give it a try and see what happens.
